Questions buyers ask
Do I pay Rene to help me buy?
Rene explains exactly how he’s paid before you sign anything. Your buyer agreement with his brokerage spells out the commission and who pays it. In many Calgary sales the commission is paid out of the sale by the seller’s side, but your agreement is what counts for your purchase, so go through it with Rene before you sign.
How long does it take to buy a home?
It depends mostly on you. Pre-approval can take a few days once your documents are ready. Some buyers find the right home in their first weekend of viewings; others take a few months. After an offer is accepted, conditions usually take one to two weeks, and possession day is set in the contract, often 30 to 90 days later.
Can you help me if I'm buying outside Calgary?
Yes. Rene also works in Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere and Okotoks. See the community guides for what each town is like.
Do I need to be pre-approved before I start looking?
Rene recommends it. A pre-approval tells you what you can borrow and holds an interest rate for a period, and sellers take an offer more seriously when the buyer has one. See how much down payment you need and the mortgage calculator.
